Institutional repositories, current research information and management systems are being implemented at institutions for some time now, sometimes they exist in parallel, sometimes they work together. The goal of CRIS-IR interoperability is to achieve “many outputs with one input” to assure a less time consuming work for researchers and information managers and to combine the expertise of all communities. Our experts, Ligia Maria Ribeiro (University of Porto, Portugal), Friedrich Summann (Bielefeld University, Germany) and Pablo de Castro (euroCRIS, UK) discuss technical and communication issues as well as use cases of CRIS-IR interoperability.
